Douglas ratepayers and businesses are being asked to give their views on proposals to expand the Island's Tesco store.
Plans for the supermarket will be the subject of a public inquiry in February.
If approved, they would create in the region of 250 new jobs, but there is also concern a bigger store might have a negative impact and lead to the closure of some Island retailers.
Council leader David Christian says the local authority is fully committed to the regeneration of Douglas into a vibrant retail centre, but also acknowledges the plans could compromise the viability of some businesses.
Ratepayers are invited to express their views in writing to their councillor at Douglas Town Hall, or via the website at douglas.gov.im
