Early Football Postponement in Premier League

by isleofman.com 19th November 2009

Saturday's Sure Mobile Premier League clash between Old Boys and St. Mary's was postponed on Thursday morning amid the heavy rain and gales.

Rugby's Manx Shield game between Castletown and Emerging Nomads at Poulsom Park has been called off for the second weekend in a row.

And the Manx Hockey Association says it is keeping an eye on conditions for Saturday with more wet ad windy weather forecast.

Manx Radio's Sports Editor Tim Glover says the Football postponement is the earliest one caused by a waterlooged pitch that he can remember.

He went up to Blackberry Lane on Thursday to take a look for himself:-
