Jail for man who attacked partner

by isleofman.com 18th November 2009

A 43-year-old man who attacked his partner has been jailed for a total of twelve months by High Bailiff Michael Moyle.

Steven Arthur Dockerill, of Sulby Road in Willaston, admitted assaulting Sharon Ferguson twice, damaging her mobile phone and using threatening words or behaviour towards a man at the Manor Hotel.

The offences were committed in August and September this year.

His advocate claimed Dockerill's partner had started the arguments, resulting in two minor assaults.

Miss Ferguson had accused him of having an affair, which wasn't true.

Mr Moyle gave Dockerill a seven-month prison sentence and activated five months of a six-month suspended sentence imposed last year.
