A top British parliamentarian will deliver the chief minister's International Lecture in Douglas this evening.
Lord Bach is Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice, with responsibility for relations with the Crown Dependencies.
He has been something of an ally for the Island recently, after his positive comments following the release of the Foot Report last month.
Lord Bach said the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey had 'much to be proud of in meeting high international standards'.
