'Address VAT issues rather than asking questions'

The chief minister has told Tynwald he can't say there will be no further adjustment in the VAT revenue sharing arrangements with the United Kingdom.

Tony Brown was responding to a question from Michael MHK David Cannan.

Mr Cannan said he was disappointed the chief minister wasn't more forthcoming in his answer and that if the arrangements had been equitable in the first place, as had been stated, the Island shouldn't now be facing the shortfalls which had been imposed. 

Mr Brown said he couldn't understand why members were continually asking questions about what had happened, rather than looking to see what could be done:
