Education cuts warning from union chief

by isleofman.com 17th November 2009

A top union official has warned of the dangers of cutting education provisions in the wake to the changes to the Island's VAT entitlement.

Mary Bousted, the Association of Teachers and Lecturers' General Secretary, says such a move would be 'short sighted'.

She's been on the Island to address the union's members here, find out what their current concerns are and meet Education Minister Anne Craine.

Ms Bousted says she told the minister that unions should be seen as part of the solution, not part of the problem and has asked for ATL to be involved in any decisions made.
