Bayley crowned girls champion

The first finals of the IOM Table Tennis Association Junior Championships were played at Centre 21 in Douglas.

Rebecca Bayley was crowned under 18 girls champion after beating Rachel Johnston 11/5 in the final set.

Charlotte Looker was placed third and Rebecca Cowin came fourth.

Sean Drewry won the under 12s contest and later competed in the under 14s where he won the Consolation Final against George Brockhouse.

Ryan Courtie was runner-up in the under 12s ahead of Ben Christian and Oliver Cain.

Ronan McDonnell retained the under 14s title he won last year in a thrilling final against Will Bayley.

Hadyn McLarney and David Lovelady were the losing semi-finalists.

The other age groups play next Sunday (November 22) at Centre 21.
