Eight days to opening of skating rink

by isleofman.com 16th November 2009

The Villa Marina Gardens have been temporarily closed to the public so an ice rink can be set up for the festive period.

The Department of Tourism and Leisure says it's made the decision to suspend access for about a week in the interests of safety.

The gardens will stay closed until construction of the Sure Skate Ice Rink has been completed.

People visiting the Villa during the period may have to make alternative parking arrangements, because access to the car park via Broadway will not be possible while heavy goods vehicles make their deliveries.

Sure Skate is due to open to the public on Tuesday, November 24.
