Island acts in the news

by isleofman.com 15th November 2009

Two of the acts booked to appear at next year’s Isle of Man Bay Festival are in the headlines this morning (Sunday).

Brit award winners JLS were performing at Birmingham's Christmas lights switch-on yesterday when some of the watching crowd surged forward and broke through metal barriers - injuring those standing nearest the stage.

Meanwhile, security guards threw Calvin Harris out of the X Factor studio last night.

The Australian singer-songwriter, due to perform here next June, stormed the stage while John and Edward were performing, holding a pineapple on his head.

Harris – who had been due to appear on sister show The Xtra Factor - later apologised, saying he was a big fan of the boys.

The twins' mentor Louis Walsh was delighted with their performance - and how they handled Harris jumping on stage.
