High praise for RNLI in Island

The new head of the RNLI has been praising the Isle of Man's commitment to the organisation.

On a flying visit to the Island's five lifeboat stations, Paul Boissier, who was appointed CEO in September, said the Manx people's devotion was like nowhere else in the British Isles.

As part of his duties Mr Boissier is undertaking a review of the institution's fleet and is hoping the Douglas lifeboat will soon be replaced by a more modern vessel capable of working in even worse conditions:
