Douglas Borough Council is tightening security at a location it hopes will become a centre for leisure activity in the town.
It's looking to introduce a new, state of the art CCTV system at the North Quay end of Ridgeway Street.
Council leader David Christian says the technology is needed following the redevelopment and increased use of the area.
