Sad Losses to Motorcycling

by isleofman.com 11th November 2009

The Japanese woman who looked after the Honda team when they first came to race at the T.T. in 1959 has passed away.

83 year old Kay Carran died in Castletown last week.

She cooked food for Honda at their base at the Nursery Hotel in Onchan.

Kay was a special guest of the company during it's 50th anniversary celebrations at this year's T.T. meeting.

And it's being reported in Germany that T.T. regular Thomas Schoenfelder has died.

He first competed around the Mountain Course in 2002.

Thomas finished second in the pro class at this year's inaugural TTXGP and his best result on petrol powered machinery was 28th in the Senior in 2008.

His love of the Isle of Man led him to get married over here two years ago.

Condolences to the family and friends of both Kay and Thomas.
