New ID system for housing tenants

Rent books will soon be a thing of the past for Douglas Borough Council's 2,500 housing tenants.

Wallet-sized plastic rent cards are to be issued, as a means of identification for people making payments at the town hall.

The cards won't be used to transfer funds from one account to another, but Public Health and Housing Committee chairman Colin Cain is confident their introduction will result in a more efficient system:
