The woman killed in the accident at the Mount Murray Dip on Wednesday morning has been named as Drusilla Jane "Dru" Hamm.
The 38-year-old certified accountant from Mount Murray, who was born with cerebral palsy, was known to many for her participation in the Parish Walk, despite being told by doctors she'd never walk.
A number of floral tributes have been laid outside the Hop Garden where the accident happened.
A statement from Inspector Kevin Willson, who is leading the investigation, says, "We are still investigating how Dru came to be struck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning.
"I know that Dru was going to be picked up by a work colleague in the area of the Hop Garden car park entrance to go to the Airport.
"She would have been walking from her home and is likely to have used a small lane that joins the pavement in the Mount Murray Dip itself.
"I am very keen therefore to hear from anybody who may have seen a pedestrian in that area between about 5.45 and 6.00 that morning.
"The response so far from members of the public travelling through the Mount Murray area on Wednesday morning has been very encouraging and I would like to thank those who have contacted us.
"However I would still ask people who have not yet contacted us and were travelling through Mount Murray at that time, or who have any information at all that may assist us in determining the circumstances leading to Dru’s death to contact Police Headquarters on 631212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
