Send Urgent Mail Today, Urges Post Office

by isleofman.com 4th November 2009

Isle of Man Post Office advises customers to post any urgent items today using the Special Delivery next-day guaranteed service to ensure delivery in the UK tomorrow (Thursday5th November).

This recommendation comes in light of further UK nationwide industrial action planned by the Communication Workers Union for Friday 6th and Monday 9th November.

The guarantee for Special Delivery items posted from tomorrow (Thursday) onwards will be suspended and will be reinstated on Tuesday (10th November).

However, Royal Mail will be concentrating its contingency arrangements to maintain this service and Isle of Man Post Office recommends that any customers with urgent mail should still consider using the Special Delivery service as it expects the majority of items to be delivered the next day.

Isle of Man Post Office is confident Royal Mail will achieve a high success rate for deliveries using this service to town areas throughout the UK.

Mail bound for the UK posted from tomorrow will be subject to an estimated 24-hour delay although some standard mail will be delivered to customers on Saturday (7th November.

Mail posted at the weekend will also be subject to an estimated 24-hour delay.

Isle of Man Post Office expects Royal Mail to deal with any backlog from the strike action quickly next week.

Isle of Man Post Office employees are not involved in this industrial action and apologises to customers for this disruption to mail services which are outside of its control.

Customers with any queries can contact the Customer Services Team on (01624) 664664.
