Pedestrian killed in Mount Murray road accident

A pedestrian was killed in a road accident on the New Castletown Road early this morning, police have confirmed.

It happened at around 6am in Santon near the Hop Garden pub, or the Mount Murray Dip as it's also known.

The accident involved one vehicle and the person who died.

Police media officer Will Campbell says, "We are appealing for any vehicle drivers who drove through Mount Murray Dip, in either direction, between 5.30am and 6.15am to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.

"Likewise, any pedestrians in the area between those times are asked to come forward."
