Budding engineers take first steps

by isleofman.com 4th November 2009

Aspiring engineers are being told the Isle of Man is able to offer them a great career in a growing industry.

Six of the Island's high-tech companies came together at the Isle of Man College to show school students what their business involves, including designing and building parts for the giant Airbus A380 airliner.

Aerospace engineering and testing is only part of the growing sector which currently employs about 2,500 people on the Island.

Organiser Adrian Harrison says the show is part of a scheme to increase recruitment to the sector.
