Canada and IoM links to reap benefits?

by isleofman.com 4th November 2009

The Island's big industries could be set for boosts in the future following the strengthening of ties between the Isle of Man and Canada.

The country's High Commissioner to Britain, James Wright, made his first trip to the Island over the last few days.

He was full of praise for sectors like e-gaming, finance, shipping and space and said there seemed to be many opportunities for Canadian and Manx firms to do business together.

Meanwhile, on a political level, Mr Wright said it was important to meet members of the Manx government and forge personal links with them.

He also revealed a tax information exchange agreement was about to be signed by Canada and the Isle of Man.
