The air at Cregneash was filled with turnip peel and the squeals of delighted children yesterday, as Manx National Heritage staged its annual Hop tu Naa celebration.
Hundreds of people wandered around the open air folk museum, enjoying activities and demonstrations relating to the ancient Celtic festival.
But the focal point of the day was the old barn, where countless turnips, grown on site, were drilled out, for youngsters to create the traditional lanterns.
