Games official says Bowl must be ready

Chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation Mike Hooper says the Bowl in Douglas needs to be ready to host the Rugby sevens at the Youth Games in 2011.

A high level delegation has been visiting the Isle of Man to be briefed on how plans to stage the games are progressing.

Mr Hooper is aware of delays to the planned ?3 million redevelopment of the Bowl, but says he's not too concerned (play audio file):

A thousand athletes from the 72 nations in the British Commonwealth are expected to compete in the games, in seven sports.
