Minister optimistic over marine lab future use

Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne hopes the future of the Port Erin Marine Laboratory can be as bright as its past.

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is advertising the site this week, asking for expressions of interest from potential developers.

Mr Gawne says there are still no definite plans about what the building could eventually become, although it's likely it will have some sort of marine use.

He says it's been a long journey, but the facility could be redeveloped soon:
