'VAT bombshell' won't affect Braddan

Ratepayers in Braddan are being assured the dramatic fall in VAT revenue for the Manx Government won't lead to a reduction in services in their area.

Announcing the revised agreement to Tynwald last week, Chief Minister Tony Brown warned there would be a review of all expenditure, and local authorities could expect to shoulder a bigger burden.

However, chairman of Braddan Commissioners Margaret Hodge says the parish is well placed to cope with new challenges, and she is excited by the opportunities this one throws up:
