Laws would allow developers to reserve land

Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne says new land registration laws would make the Isle of Man's property market more transparent.

In the House of Keys, he won the backing of MHKs to introduce legislation requiring people to register land options.

The options are a way for developers to reserve land by paying to be the first choice when someone sells it.

Mr Gawne says at the moment it can be very difficult to find out who has options on any given plot:
