The Big Tidy Up in Douglas is to become an annual event.
Earlier this month hundreds of people, including school children, staff from businesses, voluntary organisations and members of the public, joined together to clear litter 'hotspots' across the town.
Over two days, more than half a ton of rubbish was collected from ten locations, using brushes, litter picks, gloves and bin bags provided by Douglas Borough Council.
Council leader David Christian says it's a good example of how much can be achieved through a concerted community effort, and he is calling for an even greater effort next time.
Councillors, town hall officers and staff also got involved in the initiative.
