Appeal on behalf of polecats

Now the clocks have gone back an hour for the winter, motorists are being asked to look out for a particular wild mammal on the Island's roads.

Director of the Manx Wildlife Trust Duncan Bridges says Polecats, and the much rarer stoats, can be confused by the change in time and find themselves out hunting on roadsides when there is still a lot of traffic about.

He is asking drivers to keep an eye out for them, and avoid unnecessary roadkills:
