DoE examines free nursery education for all

by isleofman.com 23rd October 2009

A petition for redress of grievance taken to this month's sitting of Tynwald won't be considered until next March.

Rushen member Juan Watterson wanted a select committee to examine the possible provision in the Isle of Man of free nursery education for all children aged three to four, in the year prior to their admission to full-time education.

However, Education Minister Anne Craine says her department is already progressing the ideas suggested by the petitioner (play audio file):

The petition was originally submitted by Helen Parry.
