Clinic brings in 'appointments only' system

by isleofman.com 22nd October 2009

Changes in procedure at the Island's hospital mean patients requiring blood tests will no longer be able to call in at the facility when it suits them.

Because of demand for the service, from November 2 it will be necessary to make an appointment before attending the clinic at Noble's.

It is claimed the new approach will make the service more efficient and cut down on long waiting times, caused by the current 'drop-in' system.

The demand placed on the clinic has risen in recent years, because the increasing complexity of modern medicine means many procedures require regular monitoring of patients' blood.
