The dangers of so called 'legal highs' and the growing problems they are causing in the Isle of Man are being highlighted by the Drug Advice Service and Helpline.
On Manx Radio's Talking Heads, DASH's director of services Shelly Stanley said their use had rocketed since the charity first looked at them at the end of last year.
She is particularly concerned about Mephedrone, also known as 'plant food', an ingredient of many of the party pills which mimic the effects of illegal drugs, such as ecstasy and amphetamines.
The police have also recently issued a warning about the drugs, highlighting the fact a number of people have ended up in Noble's Hospital, being treated for their effects.
