Delay for N.S.C. Track

by isleofman.com 22nd October 2009

Disappointing news for athletes - work on replacing the track at the National Sports Centre has been delayed until next spring.

Contractors are blaming a very wet August for falling behind schedule.

The track will be completed up to the tarmac stage by next week, but the final three layers can only be laid in drier and warmer weather.

It will be open over the winter for training free of charge.

Head of Sport and Recreation Andy Varnum says the track has to installed correctly to last for the next 20 years:-
