Parking offenders could face clamping

Could the growing number of unpaid parking fines lead to the Manx government introducing wheel-clamping?

That's one of the suggestions in a report from Tynwald's public accounts committee which was discussed by the court yesterday.

A working party will evaluate clamping, along with using debt collection agencies to find people off the Island who have outstanding fines here.

But David Callister, MLC, says he's utterly opposed to any suggestion that clampers could be allowed to ply their trade on the Island's roads:
