The DHSS report on the end of the Reciprocal Health Agreement with the United Kingdom has been approved by Tynwald, but not without serious criticism from some quarters.
Recommendations include looking to replace the loss to the department's budget of money received from the UK and increasing awareness of the changes for people travelling from the Island.
From April 1 next year, Isle of Man residents who are injured or taken ill while in the United Kingdom will have to pay if they are admitted to hospital, although emergency treatment will still be free of charge.
