Young drivers in the Isle of Man could have a big incentive for passing a government safe-driving scheme, in the form of cheaper insurance.
Manx Pass Plus is due to be launched next spring with the aim of reducing accidents involving motorists in the 16 to 25 age group.
Among other things, they would be trained to deal with different road and weather conditions, and driving at night.
Department of Transport spokesman Derek Sewell says he and his colleagues are looking at a number of ways of encouraging the target age group to take up the scheme:
