Battle against hard drugs continues

Police in the Isle of Man are appealing to the public to keep helping them in the fight against the importation of Class A drugs.

Seizures of heroin in the last full policing year were over four times greater than in the previous 12 months, with some major hauls coming as a result of information received.

But, after three heroin related deaths in as many months, the coroner has questioned whether enough is being done to combat use of the drug.

Deputy Chief Constable Gary Roberts says preventing such deaths is not just down to law enforcement, but police will continue to do all they can to tackle the problem:
