Chip pan warning after Ramsey incident

by isleofman.com 19th October 2009

Fire officers are reminding people not to leave chip pans unattended, after a Ramsey couple were given oxygen in an incident at their home.

At 5.45pm on Friday, two fire engines were called to the house in Close Woirrey when a chip pan caught light.

A neighbour placed a damp tea towel over the pan, preventing the fire spreading, after which fire and rescue personnel cleared smoke from the property.

Both occupants were helped from the house and fire crews spent 40 minutes at the scene.
