Keep taking 'normal' flu jabs

The director of public health says people should still go for their seasonal flu jabs, even though it won't protect them against swine flu.

Dr Parameswaran Kishore says the vaccinations remain important for those groups at risk from the normal types of flu virus that circulate each winter.

He says by avoiding normal flu, people who would otherwise develop complications can be kept out of hospital, freeing staff to deal with H1N1 patients.

Dr Kishore's advice is to have the shot if you haven't done so already:
