Final Countdown to Festival Registration

by isleofman.com 15th October 2009

Festival-goers are being urged to act now in order to purchase their tickets for next year’s Manx Telecom Bay Festival.

Organisers of the three-day festival will be closing registration at midnight on Sunday 25th October 2009, as they already have enough names on the register to sell out three of the four shows if everyone snaps up, as hoped, the national average of 2.4 tickets.

Based on his experience of the Peel Bay Fesitival, Promoter Jonathan Irving believes that the average may well be higher on the Island.

“We are showing loyalty to those who have registered and giving them a 24-hour window in which to purchase tickets ahead of general sale.

"The artist line-up will be announced very shortly (at the end of October) and there will be something for everyone so people will not be disappointed!

"The on-sale date for tickets will be announced at the same time.”

Duke Marketing will be handling all ticket sales, for which a huge demand is anticipated, and have priority places for the first 2,000 registrants, who can purchase from 8am on the launch day; later registrants able to buy in stages throughout the day.

Adam Duke, E-Commerce Manager at Duke Marketing, comments, "Due to the massive anticipated demand for tickets, we are launching a new version of www.bayfestival.im using cutting-edge server technology which is designed to handle the huge volume of transactions expected.

"With the upgraded website able to handle thousands of simultaneous ticket sales, we would recommend purchasing via the web if you have a choice, but our call centre will also be specially staffed for those who prefer to phone."

Jonathan Irving comments, "The Manx Telecom Bay Festival is fundamentally a community based event and having Duke Marketing as our ticketing agent further illustrates our commitment to showcasing 'on Island' expertise.

"Duke brings considerable ticket sales experience and coupled with its well staffed on-Island call centre, this bodes extremely well for the release of tickets early next month.

"With A list artists confirmed, we are confident that the festival will be a huge success.  Those interested in seeing these live concerts should register now before it‘s too late - this event is not one to be missed off next year’s calendar!

"Last week, Glastonbury sold out all of its 175,000 tickets for 2010 in less than 24 hours without any artists even being announced!"

People can register online to receive key information on the event - including the line-up - and obtain a priority booking status by visiting http://www.bayfestival.im/ and clicking the ‘register’ link.

The Isle of Man Bay Festival will take place at Nobles Park from 18th - 20th June 2010.
