Comments by the Transport Minister about contracts for the airport runway scheme have angered hauliers on the Island.
A spokesman for the Isle of Man Road Transport Association says they're particularly annoyed by David Anderson's comments about the trucks the department commissions.
In a statement Mr Anderson says they need to be "fit for purpose, safe, competent and value for money".
But the spokesman says this implies many of the Island's trucks are somehow deficient, yet all of the association's members' vehicles must conform to strict UK standards.
A number of truckers held a "go slow" protest on Tuesday, because they say Island firms have been overlooked for schemes such as the one at the airport.
A statement issued by the DoT claims local hauliers have been – and continue to be – used within the contract for this project.
The spokesman also hit out at the minister for misnaming them the "Road Haulage Association".
David Anderson is due to meet with the Road Transport Association later this month.
