Baines' shock at convictions

by isleofman.com 15th October 2009

Convicted couple Trevor and Wendy Baines say they are 'shocked' at the guilty verdicts recorded at the conclusion of their fraud trial.

However, the couple from Woodbourne Road in Douglas, say they 'respect' the decision of the court and have thanked all those who supported them throughout the trial, including the police, court and security staff.

On Tuesday, 69 year-old Trevor Baines was convicted of money laundering and false accounting with 50 year-old Wendy Baines convicted of false accounting.

He has been remanded in custody and Mrs Baines bailed, both awaiting sentence next month.
