Full tilt from team at Green Jersey

by isleofman.com 15th October 2009

Columbia-HTC will be fighting all the way for Mark Cavendish to win the Green Jersey at next year's Tour de France.

That's the objective set by the American outfit after yesterday's announcement in Paris of the route for the 2010 event.

Manager Rolf Aldag is quoted as saying "our goal is to be competitive for the green jersey next July. It's the next logical step after Mark won six stages this year and finished in Paris. Even more logical if you think about how he won that last stage on the Champs-Elysees."

Cav has identified five clear chances of a stage victory, plus another three possibles.

The Manx Missile has won ten stages in the past two years at the Tour de France.
