LVA welcomes Pubwatch scheme

by isleofman.com 15th October 2009

The introduction of an all-Island pubwatch scheme has been welcomed by the Isle of Man's Licensed Victuallers Association.

The initiative will see anyone barred from a pub for serious disorderly behaviour excluded from all of the participating public houses.

Previously, a ban would only be effective in the particular pubwatch region.

LVA spokesman Geoff Joughin, landlord of the Albert pub in Douglas, says the threat of a total ban should act as a strong deterrent to irresponsible behaviour.
