Watching brief on Mail dispute

Island businesses are anxiously waiting to see how the Royal Mail dispute in the UK plays out.

Many firms here rely on the UK’s postal service to deliver products – particularly at Christmas – and the row over pay and conditions could mean strike action as early as next week.

One retailer which depends on the Royal Mail for deliveries is Duke Video.

Its managing director Peter Duke says any industrial action would inevitably bring problems.
