Both sides battling over public rights of way on the Langness peninsula say they’re eagerly awaiting the inquiry’s findings.
On Tuesday, planning inspector Roy Hickey heard the final evidence in the inquiry which was sparked when TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson diverted a path around his home.
He says there’s no right of way across his land, while local residents say they’ve been using the footpath for decades.
Mr Hickey will spend some weeks making final deliberations before presenting recommendations to Transport Minister David Anderson.
Ian Costain of campaign group Public Rights of Way Langness says he has no personal quarrel with the Clarkson’s but wants to establish a principle.
