Jurby medical centre meeting tonight

by isleofman.com 14th October 2009

Plans to build a ?2.2 million medical centre in Jurby will be debated at a public meeting this evening (Wednesday).

Residents in Kirk Michael and Ballaugh have expressed concern as proposals for a new surgery in their own area were shelved on cost grounds.

Tonight’s meeting, in St Michael's Church Hall, Kirk Michael at 7.30pm, has been called by Michael MHK David Cannan, a long-term campaigner for a full-time doctors' surgery in Kirk Michael.

He says the facility would be better suited to serve the residents of Michael and Ballaugh, as opposed to Jurby, where the population is under 700.
