The condition of Isle of Man millionaire Trevor Baines will be made known later (Wednesday).
Sixty-nine year-old Baines spent last night in Noble’s Hospital after he took ill, shortly after being convicted of money laundering and false accounting following a month-long trial at Douglas courthouse.
He now faces up to 14 years in jail, while his 50 year-old wife Wendy has also been convicted of false accounting.
They’ll be sentenced next month.
Detective Chief Inspector John Mitchell is head of the Financial Crime Unit and says the verdicts sends out a clear warning.
