Isle of Man millionaire Trevor Baines was rushed to hospital this afternoon after being found guilty of money-laundering.
The 69-year-old became unwell and was unable to leave the dock after the jury returned its verdict shortly before noon.
An ambulance was called to Douglas Courthouse and after receiving treatment in the courtroom, Baines was transferred to Noble's Hospital.
He remains there this afternoon, and it's unclear now when he will be returned to custody.
Earlier the jury returned a unanimous verdict on the money lanundering charge - finding that Baines knew or suspected the 175 million US dollars he arranged to be transferred to Island banks, was amassed through a huge dishonest share fraud in the USA.
He and his wife, 50-year-old Wendy Baines, were also found guilty of false accounting.
Baines siged heavily at the verdict and remained seated - he embraced his wife and looked to the ceiling, visibly shocked.
Relatives who'd left court, returned soon afterwards when it became clear he'd been taken ill.
Acting Deemster Birkett remanded him in custody and sentence has been adjourned until November 12th.
Mrs Baines has been bailed until the same date.
