All-Island Pubwatch launched

If you commit a serious offence in a pub or club here you'll now be banned from all licensed premises on the Isle of Man.

The All-Island Pubwatch scheme was launched at Sam Webb's in Douglas this morning.

New legislation is also planned which will extend the court's powers to ban someone from licensed premises - including private ones such as snooker clubs and the Manx Legion.

Head of the police alcohol unit Sergeant Steve Maddox says violent incidents will incur the more widespread ban:
