by isleofman.com 12th October 2009

Douglas Coastguard rescued a young boy from cliffs near Douglas Lighthouse on Sunday afternoon.

The youngster was trapped between 20 and 30 feet up the cliff at Port Skillion when the alarm was raised at 3pm.

A Douglas Coastguard Patrol managed to recover the boy unharmed.

A spokesman for the Coastguard says any emergency or rescue situation at sea, on the cliffs or anywhere on the coast should be reported immediately by dialling 999.
