Power cut in Santon

by isleofman.com 10th October 2009

More than 200 homes at Mount Murray in Santon were still without electricity at lunchtime today (Saturday), as MEA engineers struggled to fix a major system fault.

Supplies were lost at 9.30pm yesterday, originally in much of the Santon area, but the outage was later restricted to the Mount Murray estate.

Engineers had hoped to restore power by 2pm, but that estimate was put back by three hours.

Emergency generators have been supplied to the hotel complex, which is catering for three weddings today.

The MEA says the problem has been isolated to a transformer, and the company is apologising to customers for the inconvenience.
