The deputy chief constable of the Isle of Man says a report from the Health and Safety Executive in the United Kingdom isn't going to alter the way in which police officers here carry out their duties.
The report says the public has 'unrealistic expectations' that police will put themselves in danger to protect ordinary people, and officers may choose not to put themselves at 'unreasonable risk'.
However, Gary Roberts describes some of the reporting of the Health and Safety Guidance as 'unfortunate', and says the study hasn't altered anything:
