Action demanded on advertising alcohol

The Methodist Church is calling on the Manx government to take a stand against the advertising of alcohol in the Isle of Man.

It also wants to see minimum price levels introduced for its sale.

The Methodist Synod feels it's the right time for such action to be taken, and has written to the chief minister asking him to move swiftly on an issue which, it says, is damaging so many lives.

Secretary of the Synod the Reverend David Shirtliff is hoping to start a debate on the subject:
